Loved it Vigs.... a wonderful tribute to a wonderful woman.  Exactly a month since she passed and miss her a lot. Though at times guess and hope she is in a pain-free place. Bless her dear soul in rest.

Terrific lady and played many roles in my life as a friend and teacher.

Love and regards

Lovely tribute, Vignesh! She would be proud wherever she is. Even while participating in some last rites for her, I kept thinking I should ask her if we were doing it right. She was the one I turned to for help on all matters. So I do miss her a lot. But I think there are so many fun memories like the ones you’ve shared, which always brings a smile to my face when I think of her.

I know she loved her grand kids so much. So you guys will always have her blessings.

Thank you Vignesh for penning your thoughts about your Grandma (s). Ambulu was my cousin and I really loved her matter-of-fact attitude and unadulterated guts. I always admired it. She will be missed. But you have rekindled my thoughts about my Grandma (Delhi Patti) who raised me in Chennai when my parents were in Africa. I left India to US in 1980 and could not go back to India when she passed away, since my immigration application was in process. Grandma(s) are special and she used to call me the prince of Annanagar. Ambulu was a special person and I have lots of great memories of her. Thanks for rekindling those memories.

Ambulu was my dear cousin who was in touch with me almost till last year ! She was our proxy landlord in Chennai (when I was 7 years old) and would meet with us at least two times a year, especially during religious months. My memories of her are so real, even today, I can smell the food aroma and tasty dishes she used to cook in a few minutes, that we rejoiced and feasted all the time. When we used to visit her, the appetizers that she concocted were divine. She was a humble soul within, bit her external persona was anything but. She was unabashed about her views and lively in the discussions. As age progressed, she reminded us how to feel and behave young and we loved her for it. My mom and she were best buddies and she kept my mom's spirits high while my mom was crumbling inside with breast cancer. When I visited last year in Chennai at her home, she was for the first time looking a bit weak. She let me know what she was going through but was happy to see me. I had the privilege to spend at least two hours with her. She offered to cook up something or get me coffee. But I did not want her to do that, She offered me some readymade snacks since she felt bad. I can only remember her bubbly nature, humor and total love for life. She was one of a kind.
